The Studio

The Light Mill Film Studios is the product of a little boy’s imagination permanently captured a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.  On the shoulders of that seminal life experience, the company was founded in 2003 with a mission to produce uplifting films that likewise had long lasting and meaningful resonance.  

The company was similarly inspired in its inception by a local Connecticut town’s long shuttered brass mill industry and the paralyzing impact it left on generations of residents.  The Light Mill was created out of a desire to build a film company that could not only positively impact the lives of its viewing audience and it’s own member filmmakers but the community it belonged to as well.   

Initially viewing weddings as a way to hone our filmmaking craft, we soon found they were actually a fantastic way to tell epic stories in the span of a single day. We soon realized this was a truly untapped storytelling genre tailor made for passionate and insightful filmmakers.  What’s more, these epic stories weren’t just fantasy and fiction.  They were happening in our lifetime and in our own galaxy where we could actually contribute our own voice to the story.

We were hooked.
